A lasting visual document of the region and its 'living culture' in the early years of the 21st Century. The feature to be made is a non-verbal production with an original music soundtrack (see Music Inclusion). The recording of contemporary images of the region from a highly aesthetic viewpoint. Incorporating unusual and original perspectives of the dynamic spaces found in the area, and having regard to its history, architecture, institutions, culture and people.
Music performance by Liverpool based musicians and artists will
feature strongly in this movie. It will be of a Liverpool that
we have yet to see represented on film, its people and places,
textures, corners and crannies. The full production schedule
will be sourced from many hours of location footage collected
during the past 2 and a half years and continuing during 2007.
With the help of our promotion partners, we will launch a programme
called 'Community Inclusion'
enabling residents to suggest further locations for filming.
We have listed below some of the areas covered by the production so far :

In 2007 Liverpool celebrates 800 years of history as a city, however there are many other historical
sites within the city that span several thousand years, such as the remains of a Megolithic Tomb -
'The Calderstones' (currently housed in a protective greenhouse at Calderstones Park).
The city contains many historical buildings, such as St. Georges Hall (The finest neo-classical building
in Europe), Speke Hall, The Three Graces (Port of Liverpool Building, Cunard Building, Liver Building),
The Historic Docks, and is home to the largest collection of museums and art galleries outside of London.
For these, and many other reasons, the city was recently acknowledged by its designation as a 'World
Heritage City' by UNESCO. |

Liverpool has one of the oldest Chinese communities in Europe, a wealth of African and Arabic cultures
and is Internationally recognised as home to many World Famous establishments in Sporting Traditions
(Liverpool and Everton Football Clubs), Horse Racing (The Grand National), and many Golf Courses of International acclaim (The Liverpool Open).
We have a significant culture of faith and traditions - two Cathedral's (Liverpool 'Anglican' Cathedral
and Liverpool 'Metropolitan' Cathedral) situated on either end of Hope Street. One of the earliest Greek
Orthodox churches and many other places of worship in the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and Bahai
faiths to name but a few.
The city has a history of welcoming people from many historical diasporas, most famously the Irish
immigrations in the 1840's. Liverpool is very much seen as a Celtic City with many of its residents having
Irish, Welsh, Scottish and Manx roots.
Capturing the 'spirit of place' and the 'living culture' of Liverpool forms the basis for our 'Community Inclusion' scheme. |

Liverpool is 'The Most Productive Music City in The World' with many local acts reaching an International
audience. The most famous of all, 'The Beatles' have left a lasting legacy with Liverpool Airport being
renamed 'Liverpool John Lennon Airport', and Sir Paul McCartney's visionary 'Fame school' - LIPA'
(Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts).
Apart from the many 'Pop Music' acts, Atomic Kitten, Space, etc. there is currently a wealth of performers
who regularly perform original live music across the region covering many musical styles. In recent years,
progressive individuals are embracing musical influences from the many and varied cultures who have
made Liverpool their home (including asylum seekers) and in collaborative projects are creating new and
exciting 'Fussion' grooves for the 21st Century.
Filming these individuals and groups for inclusion is the core
of our 'Liverpool Live'
project. Capturing micro-performances of any individual who would
like to express their musicality is the basis for 'Music
Inclusion'. |

During the past two years of our filming schedule we have been collecting supportive documentary
footage for inclusion on the DVD release of the film. This will continue throughout 2006/2007 when we
will be recording all 'Community Inclusion' and 'Musical Inclusion' projects.
During the coming months we will be advertising further Community Inclusive 'Special Projects' such as
'Drum 800' and 'Liverpool Live'. Keep informed by adding your name to our Newsletter Mailing List:
